The Samanalawewa Dam, located near the town of Balangoda in the Sabaragamuwa Province, is a hydroelectric power plant commissioned in 1992 in Sri Lanka. Funded with support from Japan and the United Kingdom, the project is the third-largest hydroelectric scheme on the island and generates approximately 405 GWh of energy annually. Constructed at the convergence of the Walawe and Belihul Oya rivers, the Samanalawewa Dam measures 110 m in height and 530 m in length.
